As you may know by now, Book 2, Tree of Eyes, is now officially published and available for immediate purchase!
It’s around 1:30pm PST on January 31st as I write this. I stayed up past midnight to put some final touches on the administrative end of things before the book released today. And now that the dust is settling and Tree of Eyes is out in the open, I am finally allowing myself to breathe, take a step back, and realize fully what I’ve accomplished, not just for Tree of Eyes but for Eye in the Blue Box as well.
I’ve reached my dream of publishing this story and sharing it with the world. I know it sounds dramatic, but I’m so relieved right now that I feel like if I were to get struck by lightning, I could still die happy. If all my blog posts leading up to release of both books didn’t convey it already, these books mean so much to me, and the fact that I’ve survived and thrived to the point that I was even able to complete and publish them at all is a huge win, blessing, and everything in between.
I hope the effort and vulnerability I wove into the pages of my saga will be of use to someone out there. I’m very grateful to the readers who have already shown my books genuine love and enthusiasm. Now that Tree of Eyes is published, I think I’ll have more mental bandwidth to process all the love and success my work has been receiving so far. Until now, it’s just been so go, go, go, almost as if I, myself, were being chased by the Red Calf’s darkness through the twisting and dark tunnels that is self-publishing systems.
But back to celebrating the book!

I believe the playlist for Eye in the Blue Box will sound different once you’ve finished reading Tree of Eyes and understand the greater themes and finer nuances I infused into the saga as a whole. So, make sure to give both playlists a listen before and after reading both books! I’ve always found it fun to meditate on how your perception of something can shift and change depending on the depth of your understanding.
Creating extra material, like these playlists, is a part of the publishing and marketing journey I never anticipated but have so thoroughly loved! It’s actually really fun to create more opportunities for my readers to enjoy my work in different ways and to have my books spread their reach through totally different mediums. Next, I hope to get some kind of small merch going. I still cling to the dream that I’ll sell enough books to be able to afford the creation and distribution of Bloom plushies!
